    Amandla! (A!): How did you become politically active and how did you come to be part of the EFF?

    Admiral Litchfield-Tshabalala (A L-T): I started being politically active when I was 12 or 13 years old.

    Travelling from Soweto to Johannesburg, even as a child, you could not help being confronted by extreme inequality and racism. I wrote a lot of poetry at that time on the plight of African people, and that’s been my rallying point.

    My interest is not so much with workers or women or youth – it is much more with the plight of African people.
