Mickey Mouse is an Americancartooncharacter created in 1928 at Walt Disney Animation Studios by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. He is the Walt Disney Company's mascot.

Mickey is an anthropomorphic mouse who wears red shorts, large yellow shoes and white gloves. He is known for his small size and falsetto voice, the latter of which was originally provided by Walt Disney.

Mickey first appeared in the 1928 short Plane Crazy, but did not make his official debut until Steamboat Willie, released later that year.

He was created as a replacement for Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Mortimer Mouse was supposed to be Mickey Mouse's original name, but Lillian Disney, Walt's wife, said it should be "Mickey" instead.
